About Me:
Dr. Daphne J. Holt is an associate professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She serves as director of the Emotion and Social Neuroscience Laboratory at Mass General, director of the Resilience Program and co-director of the Schizophrenia Clinical and Research Program. Dr. Holt attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where she also received a PhD in neurobiology. She received her training in psychiatry in the Mass General/McLean Hospital adult psychiatry residency program, becoming a faculty member of the Massachusetts General Hospital Psychiatry Department in 2004. Dr. Holt’s research focuses on understanding the neural basis of emotional function and social behavior, and abnormalities in these domains in neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia. She is also beginning to identify changes in these systems in young people who are at risk for neuropsychiatric disorders, in an effort to develop methods to detect these changes before the onset of these illnesses. She also oversees a clinical program that focuses on reducing risk for neuropsychiatric illness.
